Hey I’ve had the same issue, but mostly ignored it due to there being enough cuttable trees and it being nice to leave a few trees standing in every bog anyway.
My theory is the ones they refuse to chop down are holy trees worshipped like gods so naturally following any command to level them is not even in the realm of possibilities.
