    Hi and welcome!

    Steel is something people can’t make in the North by themselves, not yet. So they have to buy the raw material to forge steel tools until they manage to build a blast furnace which is on top of my to do list.

    AHA! I’m relieved now that I know I’m not missing something simple. I guess I’ll buy some Steel bars from a merchant and forge on! I’ll anxiously await a blast furnace to build. Will that come in the form of a mod available from Steam, I hope?
