I was playing on banished since 2015 .after got all the achievements on steam i may continue to play it with the very good work of all the modders.after the first CC , and others , came Megamod ..etc etc Recently the rk editor’s choice and the last one : the north .( my most fun challenge was to have 5000 bannies around one unique market ! ^^ )
my the first time i played whith one year is one year and lost my village without understand.actuelly i play it with norseman ..it’s better ^^
I understood that is little much complicated than Vanilla ,just read your news on the satisfaction radius to make an idea. but I don’t really know why the health of my village was fallen to one cos I got the best tools and winter clothes ,skryl , Honey , bread and ishbas like houses for the present … so I continue may be I will find why ..

In fact my challenge around the market was made with MM 06.
I found why my bannies had only one hearth … that’cos they all running in mass to get herbes ?? I don’ know what they do with but it’ Always in ..September.. So after sometimes , I lost all the plantations… and after a second starvation period I am sorry but can’t continue to make only gatherers and hunter with a max of herbalist!!! i choosen a map with a mild climate but my Farmers don’have the minimum to stay alive…may be a tip? cos i never saw that with the vanilla game !! Farmers was a must to make big city ..
I was trying a others tactics….
and the price of the traders are very expensive for the food.

I guess people are running for herbs just in September because there are herbs available at this time. Seems to be a bit unfortunate to leave the fields for a visit at the herbalist in harvest time.^^ The low health comes from an unbalanced diet and to provide this is more challenging in the North. Herbs cannot really compensate it. Here is the list of all food resources: ../wiki/food
In mild climate, farming should not be a problem. And yes, trading is a good strategy for food supply. The price level is indeed higher but also for stuff to sell. And there are some special Nordic goods where merchants are keen on.
After the starvation , i begin a new map and find my mistake game ! it’s only cos I change my house on Ishba instead red cottage !!
Ok! after that I only make the red cottage whith all the needing built !
Now hapiness : 5 and healht : 4.5 … I Don’t find how to get 5 on 5 ..
After undertand that it ‘was a piece of cake !
I may try all the buildings! and Something was Strange to me..Bank !!
If i understood they Don’t make money from gold and only take gold ore , etc ..
So why they could be 10???
only one is enough!
And Something is weird for me is the ratio from children and student ?
With one to one , I will know when a lot of adults are coming .. but here i never’have the ratio : X children = X student
anyway I continue to get more than 1000 bannies..
5 stars with Norsemen is really an achievement. Congrats, you managed the Banished happiness system! :)
4.5 health is almost perfect as well. Probably your food production and trade is very well organized and the last 0.5 hearts are due to markets and citizens behavior. Maybe not all people have access to all food types all the time in their markets or they gather food in a closer barn where not all types are stored. A small food market will help to manage this. I always recommend the DS Wagon Vendor placed below the North mod to get fully integrated markets.
The job of the bank is to store money and precious metals efficiently (almost endless capacity) and to save it from loss by fire and storm (the bank cannot be destroyed by disasters). With 10 gold you mean the building requirement? They are for the lettering above the door. Of course it is covered with real gold, one for each letter.
How is your ratio of age groups? You can post a screen here or just write. I’m interested to maybe adjust the Norseman mod.

In fact , your system is more logical than MM8 cos only a cimetery is needed and there is no challenge and fun ..here it’s more near Anno 1404 for exemple !
generally when i begin a theme I use only the mod special for the theme , this time I may join Mini building cos I can’t play whithout School with a mod wich change the time.and the tiny forester go well with the others forest buildings.
I don’t play whith disaster : accidents and diseases are enough .
Cos a lot nomades are obligatory at the beginning and it’s take already a very much time after to get 100 % educated. anyways I change after for the 2 school in one, it’s very useful for the radius of one village.
For the health , to put more village shop seems a good idea.
For the ratio : august 115 414/91/296 ^^ , I think it’s because I can’t have house with only 4 ppl too ,on one side , I just have to put the 2 school for one village.
But it’s begin Always with the time to be exponentiel and i must keep he production of all the resourses.
Ho by the way !! the Daler sold by the merchands are false!!! my bank don’t take them !I must unload it !^^

Yes, the good old Mini Buildings are nice survival items in the North.
In your game are really a lot of kids. The vanilla wooden and stone huts take only 4 inhabitants. That would help but does not really match the design. I have small homes on my list for the next update. Also it will make sense to cool down people by increasing the time between childbirth.
What is wrong with the money? It cannot be stored in the bank?

Sorry for the delay but I got family at home for a Week and my computer was stolen by my littles nephews ^^
In fact nothing wrong with the Daler , I don’t know why but they pick up very very slowly..
I always had some troubles with traders cos they usually take matériels in alphabetic orders ..not here !
Now my littles villages passed the 2500 bannies but i ‘m not sure I may have more 3 k or 4 k.
I m curious to see when I must stop the game…
No problem, little nephews have priority over little bannies. :)
I never noticed that traders take something alphabetically. I think they do it randomly and I doubt they can understand any language.^^
Let me know what’s your maximum pop then. I guess, with 2.5 k it’s already slow motion.

I don’t know if they understand all ^^ but I noticed that on MM8 , when I was choosing a theme I don’t need sometime miscellaneous item like : flowers , bones , feathers etc.. and when you sell it : you can see that the order is indexed alphabetically and if you put a signifiant amount you could see that they generally take all the amount of the first then the second and finished by the third one …. for my exemple : bones , feathers , flowers.
that is why i was thinking they don’t take the Daler .but No in fact.
by the way , i was testing to play without norsman and only the little town hall.
It’s took me 16 years to got finally glass , brick and roof tiles !with one big and 2 small traders .
my first village was near full around the market not finished..
but after built 6 schools the ratios tends to be more balanced and curiously no educated people seems to me much more productive than the vanilla game .
I think i was continue this new game to obtein 3k or 4k .

Do you mean the merchants taking stuff when auto-purchasing? I mean where you noticed an alphabetical order. I would do some testing to find it out. Maybe it could be used for something (selling money with a priority).
Some jobs are more productive than vanilla, that’s true. For example cutting down trees. A vanilla tree drops 3 logs or only 2 for uneducated workers. In the North it is 6 logs from a tree, independent of education. Also mining ore, coal or stone is way more productive. In vanilla Banished I would not even build a mine or a quarry. :)

heu ! no ! I mean when I want to sell 1000 flowers ,1000 bones , 1000 feathers …
my traders are looking for in first : 1000 bones then 1000 feathers and 1000 flowers.
Because its classified by alphabetic order in the panel “trades” of the trading post.
I took this three item for exemple because if I do nothing they are quickly fill up all my barns instead of food.
In fact I was thinkink that a Bank was working like a trading post but this is not the case.
For auto-purchasing only one thing ! i’ts took to me a long time : you must ask this thing to every boat merchand wich came at your trading post , wait untill they are all coming with this thing and finally launch the order.
Ok ! I understood but when in vanilla Bannies took the coal instead the firewoood was a big trouble to me ^^

Ordering certain items (and waiting for it) is a different thing. With auto-purchasing I mean if you go to the “purchase” tab and define an amount of grain or fruits to buy when a merchant arrives or leaves. When this happens, the merchant takes one item after the other from the inventory of your trading post until the value is balanced. And I always thought he takes it randomly but maybe not.
I think he means, if at a TP you specify in the inventory 100 bread and 100 fish, the trader will always bring the bread before the fish because “b” comes before “f”. I think that’s what he’s saying, and I think I’ve noticed it as well, but not positive. I wish it were not that, I wish it were priority given to how many were “missing” first, but probably that’s not something a mod can change.
Ok, then I got him wrong. When filling up the TP inventory with stuff from barns, I don’t know in what order they carry it. Can be they work downwards the inventory or in order of any internal job list. So if you clicked bread to be stored before fish (because you were doing this in alphabetical order) then they will do too.^^
And yes, with modding we cannot change such AI behaviors.
