I have a hunting camp in the forest and I checked the resources and he’s got 145 furs up in there. I also have a trapper camp in another area, and he hoards fur coats I make to trade. How do I get those furs and fur coats away from them?
Both buildings have some special storage that includes furs and also fur coats because of the limited flagging system in Banished. If you have free storage near the tailor shop, coats usually don’t land out in the forest. If they are meant for export, your traders will pick them up there. With wheelbarrows it’s very efficient, also if far away.
Ok that makes a certain amount of sense – the traders were not picking them up though – do I need to add more traders, or do my storage facilities need to be within a certain distance of the traders for them to pick things up? I’ve paused that village for now until I sort out how to get them to pick things up. Thanks!
The circle around trading docks is only relevant for happiness. Traders pick up stuff also from hunting camps or trapper cabins far away but they will probably start filling the dock with goods from near storehouses or markets. Assigning more traders will speed it up of course.
Ok, I’ll try assigning more traders. At what point do you do an export trader – when you have a bulk of items filling up your large trader, or as soon as you can afford the people and materials to build and staff it? I’m a relative novice to the game really, I played for a while and had trouble with the balance of workers and food, and just quit playing for a long time. Now I’m starting again and seem to run into a threshold where I have plenty of food – and then suddenly I don’t have enough and my reserves start going down. I had a villager starve to death with 2500 food in storage and all the houses had food, they just didn’t go get something to eat.
