    I still disagree little about stone tools. If it comes situation with deprivation of everything, some kind quick tools making would come handy, wooden and stone.
    It dosent mean exact same stabile continuum knowledge from stone ages. Word “stone tools” give a easily visualization about “stone age” but it meaning can stretch a little.

    The easiest way to create an early tool is to repair a broken tool or melt it into a new tool

    When moving, what can not be quickly purchased is taken with a stock. If a person was left with nothing as a result of the disaster, then there is only one way out: to make from scrap materials. So for immigrants a large supply of tools and clothing to beggars stone tool.

    Today I finished the stepping stones. Can be nice not only on Seafarer maps.

    About those tricky tools, I think I will go with Nillas idea of iron bars in most starting conditions. It keeps the challenge of building up the iron chain and this special survivor part of this mod. I don’t want to loose it for a somehow cheaty feature that can also come in game by a simple add-on. What I especially like is that it adds not just more free tools but something in between where players have to think and find the best way. Also for what to use the iron since it can be turned into tools or building material to get a nice frame house for happy Anders and Ella or a big storehouse for example.

    Stone Tools can still be loaded in addition and it will not make a difference. It’s even green in mod list. I also keep the increased durability of 200 and 400 for iron and steel tools. It was not just to balance stone tools, more to adjust the vanilla durability where the tool chain is way faster and cheaper. With this higher durability it feels more like a valuable item where people can make things with instead of a consumable that wastes away in storage like food.

    I also increased the chance of nomads coming to the Thingstead. I have no way to balance this perfectly but it should solve partly the effect of too many boring first years. Rushing for trade to build a chapel is still a strategy, especially for Seafarers.

    Where I cannot find a cause is the market not filled up completely and the mead hall with booze carried away. Everything else I have tested technically today and will upload it tomorrow for a last Beta run if you still like. :)

    About the nomads, is there a way to change the age range of the couples that arrive? I just got a 16yo guy arrive with a 42yo woman, which makes for a super odd couple and might not even have 1 kid.

    I’ve been thinking about the market too. At the moment we have the choice between the old “vanilla-style” market that requires pretty fancy stuff to build, and the red Landhandel which requires pretty fancy stuff to build (the traders bringing roof tiles and bricks are rare).
    There’s nothing to use early on to help get goods distributed evenly unless you’re using another mod (market carts or in my case Kralyerg’s mini-buildings), and nothing in the old-viking-style.

    The age of nomads cannot be defined but we increased the max age of childbearing to 45 some time ago, so an arriving woman should be able to get at least one child.

    I have removed the ropes from the market and replaced linen by wadmal. Now it’s not that fancy anymore and can be build before trading. I think that’s a good change.

    Suitable external markets are the DS Wagon Vendor which looks great in this set and also the EB Farmstand. All linked in compatibility list. The EB stand is a model in Viking style from internet and fits nicely. Only the shadowing is not that nice without AO. Both are red because I patch them into the mod. To make such a smaller item for distributing food would be definitely a good addition. I just did not start one because the DS one is almost perfect already.

    Beta v3 can now be downloaded with everything mentioned in Test Log. I would like you to especially take a look at the new healers hut and the fording.

    Let’s open new topics to talk about the new beta version. I will add a pagination feature to this board soon, so threads will not turn into scrolling monsters anymore.

    I build the healers hut, it look very nice, and i didn’t find any bugs yet, bannies put “stuff” there.
