So we sacrificed some sheep at the stave church, danced the Hambo, and drank a ton of mead. Then we tore down the old barn and built a new one on the same spot rotated 180 degrees.
Now the market workers aren’t afraid of the barn anymore and the bannies have all available foods in their homes.
I like the village market that you added! It fits well with the tiled cottages.
I noticed in my last game that the village market collects salt and sugar, even though those aren’t consumed as food. Maybe the category for sugar/salt could be removed from the little market?
This is what I was thinking of:

For food at the beginning you’ll want to gather blueberries, roots, and mushrooms (Harvest Wild Food in the Removal Menu). You get a surprising amount of food that way, especially if you keep some of the forest or bog around your village. Those foods cover 3 of the 4 food groups. To get protein you could use 1-2 fishermen or you could hunt for venison. Smoking the fish and meat helps you get more of it.
If you look around the forums I think you can find some recommendations about crop field sizes. But yes, smaller. I’m micromanaging one 9×15 field for a new village with 30 people. I let 2 workers plant it, then use 5 or 6 to harvest it. In the winter I assign them to something else.
I’m getting crashes, and it seems like it’s this bug. I am using North 711(1.07).
The crashes started happening when I built a Forester lodge near some peatland and staffed it. As long as I keep “cut” turned off the crashes stop.
Hi and thanks for the quick reply!
It does seem to provide some spirit happiness even when there’s no feast. On the attached screenshot you can see where I tried removing the priest and then re-added him. With the priest staffing the building but End the Feast set (and no supplies in the temple), I have many 5 star little vikings.
There are still some stubborn 2 star ones, presumably because there were some deaths before I built a graveyard?
On the other hand, when I was trying to have feasts but kept running out of supplies, my average happiness kept bouncing between 80 and 85%. I didn’t figure out who was getting the boost from the feasts.
